We are kicking off the new year by exploring the themes and dilemmas that will shape leadership in 2026.

For more than two decades, leadership has shifted in clear pendulum swings: from the performance management of the 2000s with its focus on efficiency and financial value creation, to the purpose-driven leadership, flat structures, and psychological safety of the 2010s. Now, the pendulum is swinging back – but not to where we started. Instead, we are witnessing a move towards a new balance driven by an increasingly complex and geopolitically uncertain world.
